If your baby's crib does not have this, you can improvise with a thin wood board or masonite cut to fit the crib. Angelcare actually makes their own masonite board that can be purchased or ordered along with the baby monitor if necessary. To ensure your monitor works correctly, double check to make sure you have the sensor pad positioned right side up. There are instructions that come with this product and it is easy to set up.
Angelcare baby monitors also have audio and the traditional audio lights that correspond to the level of activity in your baby's room. So, not only are you able to monitor your baby through the usual method of audio monitor you are able to monitor their breathing with the sensor pad. The only time you might get a false alarm is if your baby is highly active and manages to somehow get off the sensor pad.
